Software Farm was founded in 1997. The products were developed over a long period of time. Properdata, which was founded in 1981 and Tarragon Computing's agricultural software were amalgamated in 1996 and from then on, the Windows programs were developed.
Where there were similar products, one product was developed with the functionality of both products. An example is SimFini that was developed from Finvloei and Agrifin.
Software Farm's office is in Pretoria from where all the business is conducted.
Marketing takes place through a network of dealers that are geographically well spread. Some of the bigger co-operations are dealers and they also manage a bureau service with Software Farm programs, to their clients.
